Copies of The Foot Fist Way (filmed right here in Concord, NC) must already be circulating, because I have found several positive reviews online. Variety.com’s review calls the film “A film crying out to be discovered by midnight movie mavens.” AintitCool.com called it one of the best films of 2007. And more reviews at RottenTomatoes.comrate it as tomato-worthy. Why is this indie comedy garnering so much buzz? Perhaps it’s the fact that it’s being released by Gary Sanchez Productions, a company founded by Will Ferrell and Adam McKay, the geniuses behind the Internet sensation FunnyorDie.com.
Read my previous posts about this film:
The Foot Fist Way is the latest example of the growing film industry in North Carolina. Recently, the North Carolina Film Office attended the “Locations” trade show in Santa Monica, Calif., April 10-12. Charlotte, Durham, Piedmont Triad, Wilmington, and Western North Carolina film regional commissions shared booth space with the Film Office at Locations. The representatives spoke with hundreds of industry professionals about the state’s tax incentives program, locations and crew/infrastructure. The “Locations” trade show is an annual, anchor event of the Association of Film Commissioners International (AFCI) that hosts 250 film commissions from 30 countries, as well as industry services, under one roof.
