Yes, there’s more to Cabarrus County that racing, but it is what gives us our identity and makes us unique. And, thanks to the recent announcement that Lowe’s Motor Speedway will stay in Concord, we are the future home of the World’s Racing Destination as envisioned by Bruton Smith.

So you may be asking yourself, “Is Cabarrus named after that Italian restaurant?” Actually, no. It’s Cabarrus, pronounced kuh-BEAR-us. According to Wikipedia, it was named after Stephen Cabarrus, speaker of the NC House of Commons, in 1792.
